This looks fantastic and fun, so I am signing up for it!! Here is the link to sign up-if you are interested-

Here is the basic idea- we blog every day in April-except Sundays, therefore there will be 26 days which match the letters of the alphabet. So on April 1, you blog about something that starts with the letter A- you can have a month long theme or just do different posts- but it must be for the letter of that day!!
To me this sounds, fun and challenging as it will make me think of different things to post. Here are some more details:
The A to Z Challenge is a great way to get into the blogging habit and make new friends. For more details and its history, go HERE

We recommend short posts, turn off Word Verification, and visit five blogs (or more) a day beginning with the one after yours on the list.

Blogs must be on an open platform – no Tumblr, Facebook, Pinterest, etc. – and comments enabled. Please make it easy for visitors to comment on your blog.

To streamline legitimate blogs from advertisement blogs, the Co-Hosts will be visiting each blog on this list throughout the Challenge. Once the Challenge begins, blogs showing no activity or those that miss five days in a row will be removed.

Please note your blog name and number in all correspondences. Remember that as blogs are removed, your number WILL change.

There are categories for those looking for like-minded blogs. Select ONE category code and enter it after your blog’s title/name. The code applies to your blog, not your theme for the Challenge and is purely optional. See the first few blogs on the list for examples. However, if your blog has adult content, you MUST mark it (AC) or it will be removed from the list. Codes are as follows:

Be sure to grab the badge and display it in your sidebar so we know you are participating and link to the A to Z Challenge Blog.

The Best Basic Blogger: January Wrap Up Post

The Best Basic Blogger: January Wrap Up Post: January Wrap Up Post!   Ok I have read and reviewed 5 books total for the month of Jan. 4 of those books went to Challenges. I started ...

Book Review-ARC of Wild Cowboy Ways by Carolyn Brown

Wild Cowboy Ways is a small-town country read. The Lucky Penny Ranch is the main setting, and Blake Dawson and his brother and cousin all pitch in to buy and restore this ranch, which you can tell from the beginning is going to be an ongoing, expensive ordeal.
That is how he meets Allie, carpenter and daughter of The local seed and feed store owner. Her sister Lizzie is engaged to Mitch who is a preacher.Allie's grandmother-Irene is having memory difficulties, and so goes wandering over to the Lucky Penny Ranch to talk to "Walter" who lived there 30 yrs ago. She's a sweet, loveable character who you can't help but feel for.
My take:
This is a terrific read if you like characters that make up a small town, as well as a very strong religious undertone-I personally didn't care for it, but it also is imperative to the storyline. What I enjoyed most was the interaction of Blake with Allie and her family, he just sounds so awesome in this book. A nice love story,
with small amounts of sexual chemistry.

My rating: a very solid 3 1/2 Cokes.

Book Review-INVISIBLE by James Patterson and David Ellis

Invisible was the quickest book I have read this month, and that's because as soon as I got home from work I read, and read..etc. This book is excellent in so many ways.
But first, here are a couple favorite quotes that I just loved!!
"A knock at my door. A cold wave runs through me. I don't have a weapon. I have my mop and bucket. I could threaten to clean the guy to death." LMAO
2nd favorite quote " He gets Malibu Barbie -I get Grandpa Walton!" Again, LMAO
Loves the names of some of the characters, The Dick, Books- I mean, how can you not love that?
Well anyway in typical JP style, this book is about a brutal killer, who is very hard to pin down. I can't give away too many spoilers, but it's about this woman who loses her twin sister in a horrible fire. She becomes determined that it was not an accidental death, and goes against her agency to keep tracking down this horrible person. It leads her back to her ex fiancee, who left FBI after she left him three months before their wedding. From here, YOU HAVE TO READ FOR YOURSELF>CANT PUT DOWN.

5 cans of Pepsi!

Thursday, January 28, 2016

WELL, I thought this was going to be a sweeping historical romance. It wasn't. However, it was definitely rich in historical details which I did enjoy very much. However, the characters, I feel I didn't know very well, and what I did know , some of them I didn't like at all.

EXCERPT:"The journey to Elishaw took the t=rest of the day, because it had taken more time than expected to rally Wats forces. He had 50 men, though, without robbing the hall or Raven's Law of needed protection, and he had reason to believe they would be enough to send the besiegers running,or at least persuade them to talk."
As you may be able to surmise for yourself from the except I chose, most of the story was more about the battle between Scotland and England for English rule. (Braveheart anyone?). I cannot tell you about the wedding as that would be a spoiler! However, Sir Walter Scott and Meg are the main characters, with a bunch of interesting side characters, that honestly are sometimes better than the main ones!! Two characters I really didn't care for was Meg's sister, and Meg's brother-Tom. You have to read to find out why.
So my overall rating for this read is
